Was Jesus Married?
The doubt raised by The Da Vinci Code -- -- the Proof that Nobody Has Mentioned Yet!
This Chistrian article re the DaVinciCode is about one thing that has not yet been mentioned about whether or not Jesus was married, in the many Da Vinci Code controversies that have run across the nation and indeed the world in recent years...
"Was Jesus Married?"
by Rev. Dr. D. M. Hoffmann, B.Th., M.Th., Ph.D., Ord./IAOGI, (CNC).
The bestseller phenomenon, "The Da Vinci Code", has raised questions in the minds of a lot of people.
Many Christian experts and leaders have joined in on the Christian article forums and Christian book platforms to rebutt and counter the claims of Dan Brown which have given doubts to the doubters.
From my observation, most of the folks affected by this deception are non-believers who don't know God and the Bible, marginal believers who don't know God and a little about the Bible and people who think they are Christians.
According to some experts, the reason why some readers are confused about the Da Vinci Code novel is that the book alleges to contain factual historical evidence.
Many counter books and articles have been written on the fact that Brown's "evidence" come from Gnostic information, fictional fantasies and other non-Christian understandings and myths.
I will not go over the answers to the major points people have questioned from this book. One good resource to read up on these is " www.rbc.net " where you can click on this subject and where you can also request a booklet "The Da Vinci Code, Separating Fact from Fiction".
And one only needs to do a search on Google to see many excellent expert Christian renderings on the matter.
Was Jesus Married?
In this Chistrian article I do want to bring up an important proof that I have not heard anyone mention yet in any Christian articles, books, or seen on television interviews about the question that people ask regarding whether or not Jesus was married.
Just recently, on a major Christian program, the host asked a guest who wrote a book in response to the Da Vinci Code, "Could Jesus have been married?" as if he may have been, and added "Would it make any difference if he was?".
I threw my hands up in the air and shouted, "No He could not". And yes it would make a diffirence -- an eternal difference." My spirit was grieving intensely.
The guest proceeded to give the common responses about the lack of evidence in the Bible on this and scriptural back-up that indicate Jesus was not married.
Listen, the most important evidence that Jesus COULD NOT have been married is the fact that HE IS GOD!
He is the Creator, the Father of each and every individual on this earth! There is no way of connecting Him with marriage. He only had a father's love and care for everyone he came in contact with while he visited this earth. He came to visit His own children -- the ones He created.
Neither did He have any "sexual" thoughts as we think of sex today. Remember, let me say it again, He is God -- the Creator and the Father of each one of us.
By asking the question, we reduce Him to a mere man. He was man (in the flesh) temporarily as He visited here on earth. He is God! God, I repeat. Case closed.
Here's what the Bible says of Him:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. ...
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not." (John 1)
We've lost the complete context of God. God created the universe, everything in it including every single individual and you and me.
He made Himself into human form to come here personally and communicate one-on-one the message of redemption, the plan of salvation, consummating it through His human death and supernatural resurrection.
Anyone who has "doubts" about whether Jesus was married has forgotten that HE IS GOD.
As such HE COULD NOT marry. (I'm not shouting, I'm emphasizing). That would be incest of the highest degree! And even here this thought is an oxymoron. That would be placing Him on the level of mythical figures associated with sex.
Read the Book! The Bible is the Word of God. Get to know Him. Then you won't be shaken by non-Christian claims and non-christian and uninformed Christian articles.
